Sustained strength on the wider fuels complex and continued maintenance on Norwegian gas infrastructure led to gains across both the NBP natural gas and UK Wholesale power markets last week.

Early in the week, strike action at Total’s Alwyn, Dunbar and Elgin Franklin rigs boosted prompt contracts as immediate supply into the British system was cut short. These strikes were resolved by Tuesday; but, an outage at the Kollsnes processing plant which began on Wednesday, meant that prices remained supported towards the front of the curve…
