Consultus dates back to 1993, when an energy buyers club was created within a UK consulting business in response to the privatisation of utility markets. This identified new opportunities for more competitive pricing alongside something unique: unbiased independent advice and a genuinely transparent approach.

The Energy Brokers emerged as one of the first dedicated third-party intermediaries in this market space. Its client portfolio grew rapidly based on market demand, in-house expertise and intellectual property, proven negotiating skills, consulting expertise – and its ethical approach.

  • 2000 – First version of the myEnergy client portal

  • 2008 – Compliance services rolled out
  • 2014 – 10TWh of energy under management
  • 2015 – MBO by Consultus International Group
  • 2015 – The WaterBuyers is established

  • 2016 – Updated and extended myEnergy portal introduced
  • 2017 – Consultus International acquires PEMXQ Limited
